Interviewing for competencies focuses on the big distinction between an individual’s ideas about what it takes to be successful on the job and what that person actually does that causes success. Understanding this difference, combined with practice in proven techniques for uncovering the thoughts and behaviors that relate to success will provide hiring managers with an extremely valuable interviewing tool.

2. apply BEI concepts to general interviewing
3. take away the tools they need to interview for customer service competencies

Vince Pelote & Lynne Route
Vince Pelote and Lynne Route of daVinci Consulting have been involved with Behavioral Event Interviewing for 20 years. Theyh ave authored a BEI training manual and are experts in training others in how to conduct BEIs. Vince alone has conducted over 2,000 BEIs. Lynne and Vince have also worked extensively in the area of customer service in healthcare and non-health care organizations. In 2007 they co-authored the book, Masterpieces in HealthCare Leadership: Cases and Analysis for Best Practice.
